Dave and Katie Kerschbaum are the owners and designers at Smack Dab Design. They've been designing websites for commercial clients since 1997. With the formation of Smack Dab Design in 1999, Dave and Katie faced one of their biggest challenges since entering the industry - deciding on a name. In deciding upon Smack Dab, the Kerschbaums picked a name which accurately describes what they do: by way of creativity and inventiveness, Smack Dab designs professional, eye-catching websites and print materials to put their clients right where they want to be.
Dave Kerschbaum started designing websites in 1995 while working the late shift at a computer lab in the basement of his dorm at Eastern Michigan University. Partly out of curiosity and partly to keep himself awake, he disected sites he found on the web and used what he learned to build his own sites. In 1997, Dave graduated with a degree in Telecommunications and Film. Since then, he has been using his knowledge of communication and his design skills to make clients happy with websites that cater to their needs. In the meantime, Dave has received additional web training through Washtenaw Community College's Internet Professional Certificate program.
Katie Kerschbaum gradutated from Eastern Michigan University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree concentrating in Graphic Design. She worked in a graphic design studio at the University of Michigan from 1997 - 1999. Since then, she has been using her keen sense of design and eye for creativity to make customers happy with graphics and elements that portray the image they want.
